Lovely Day at the Zoo

During the one week school holiday, we went to the Singapore Zoo. And, this time round, it was so much more fun than the last visit. Main reason – Devan behaved so well! No wailing, no fussing. How wonderful!

We had a heavy breakfast, caught the 11am Splash Safari Show, took a tram ride and had some fun at the Rainforest Kidzworld. It was our first time on the tram! Since now that we’re the ‘Friends of The Zoo’, we can enjoy FREE tram rides during the weekdays. If not, you just got to pay and we’re one stingy parent who rather walks on our two feet. Haha.

Anyway, we did not go for the water play, instead we discovered another fun area within the Rainforest Kidzworld. There is this Tug Boat station where the kids got to travel from point A to point B by pulling the tug boat across the pool with a rope. It looks fun. Dylan and his Papa had a round at it before they came to me excitingly to share on what they had done, I too went over and noticed more and more kids (including some parents) crowded around to have their turn.
I wanted to snap a picture of Dylan on it, but we decided to abort the plan - the long queue. We moved on to the Rainforest Challenge area where many obstacle stations are situated. There was particularly no one around. The whole place was ours, and Dylan had a great time conquering each stations. I could just see his confident level raised to the next level whenever he completed one.
Devan got to get down, to stretch his legs. He was beaming away when he was lowered to the ground, held on to my hand tightly and does his walk - wobbling, yet so eager to take every single step. Cute!

With a lovely weather, fantastic place, and great companions. What more can I ask for? *grin*

Ooh, I love the Singapore Zoo. We took my son there when he was 14 months old and he had a blast at the water area... :)

That's been quite awhile back then. The place is now all so different and improved. A must-visit location when you come to Singapore!
