The Aftermath of a F1 Race

On Wednesday, we paid the Zoo a visit. We have lots of fun - Dylan was a happy chap and Devan was behaving very well despite skipping his morning nap. We all enjoyed ourselves that day.

As we were leaving, Dylan suggested having a F1 race with his Papa. So, both of them got ready, get set, GO! Off the father and son speeded off, disappeared from my sight as they made their turn round the corner, while I was left behind, pushing the stroller with Devan in it, enjoying the cool breeze against my cheek.

By the time I saw the boys, Dylan was brushing his kneecaps. Ah, he must have fallen during his race.

He was all teary when I reached him, asking me to stop the bleeding and pain. I did a quick check on his wounds - they were not deep but bleeding. Quickly, I cleaned them up, pasted on the plasters and said some comforting words to my little boy.

For the rest of the journey back to our car, he was moody, checking on his kneecaps whenever he could.

So, you see, that’s my boy – easily being upset and getting all teary even with a small cut on his finger or a tiny wound from a fall. He’ll keep shaking his hand or leg, as if trying his best to shake off the pain.

Bruises to him are no big deal, but a cut of 0.01mm can easily get him all worked-up!

He will learn to be stronger as he gets older.

Somehow our kids tend not to be able to withstand pain when we are by their side.

I hope Dylan's scraped knee is ok now.

I noticed tat most kids have a tendency to over-react when they cut/scrape themselves. Could likely be due to the sight of blood from the wound. Usually for Kyle, putting on a bandage seems to help.

He's alright now. =) Jumping and running as per normal. Kids will get tougher from the falls they had.

I'm looking forward to the day he'll not be this sensitive. at time does get on my nerves! haha

He's fine =) the wound's healing.
The presence of plaster does sooths him quite a fair bit BUT he refuse to take them off! So it took me sometime to talk him into removing the soilded plaster inorder to shower him.
And yes, they sure over-react to those mini accidents that involve mini injuries.
